Failure
I couldn’t do the progression run today. I went to the gym and got on the treadmill but my shins were absolutely horrible. The pace felt incredibly easy and I was even throwing some hills in there…but I was grimacing with every step that I took. I had to stop at 3 miles because the pain became unbearable :(. Then I ran 1 mile at 6 min pace…took a break and cooled down a mile....

and it was quite the struggle :(. It’s not so much my knee anymore as my shins. They are absolutely killing me…I don’t miss shin splints at all, but I should have known they were coming. It's christmas eve!!
So I’m just gonna chillax all day - for the most part. I need to get out the door right now and go for a shorter, easier run (4-5 miles) and I also want to go visit my grandfather in the hospital. Finished my 7 mile run!
I got up at 6 :30 AM and for some reason was surprised to find it still dark out. I don’t know why I thought being in florida would make a difference but I was terribly wrong. But anyways, I had to get out there so I just left the house anyways.

It was weird running today in the 60-70 degree weather and only wearing a t-shirt and shorts haha. I definitely ran way too fast this morning, but I couldn’t really help it…this state is as flat as a pancake. So about that workout...
I was supposed to run 8 X 400 today on the track at 78-83 pace. First off, I had to run today since I am travelling tomorrow to FLA and wouldn’t have time. Second off, it was SO WINDY today, it was ridiculous. When I got onto that track I thought that I was running into a friggin wind tunnel on the back stretch. It was so unbearable and cold - the wind really just cut right through me.

Sunday runs are the best
I only had to run 4 1/2 miles today so it felt so short in comparison to all my recent runs. I was moving too fast again, around 7 min pace, and even though it feels fine, I’m concerned I’m not recovering fully. I stayed relatively flat for the entire run and my knee felt alright. I really hope this tape allows the swelling to go down so my knee can finally recover!

It was nice to go to a near-empty gym and not really have to wait for any machines. I also ellipticalled for 30 mins. feeling a lot better about my cross training record haha.

haha, I agree. The skin thing is making me a tad self conscious because it’s only going to spread from here and last for about 6 weeks or so and I don’t want to look like some diseased being in my racing uniform on jan 8th haha.
